An official run consists of two trials, every in reverse directions and averaged. The second run must enter the timed space inside 60 minutes after leaving the timed mile space of the first runm to qualify under the prevailing guidelines. The time for every trial is measured alongside a one-mile stretch called the measured mile. The official time is the common of the 2 trial times. To break the file set by the Thrust SSC crew, the North American Eagle should be not less than one percent faster -- or roughly 770 mph (Mach 1.03). Thus far, the North American Eagle has reached a high pace of only 312 mph, recorded in March 2005, but that was on low-pace aircraft tires rated at 350 mph. With aluminum wheels and Trucking FAQs afterburners kicking in, the crew expects that the automotive could reach 800 mph.
